ASTM Committee C16 on Thermal Insulation is accepting abstracts of papers for Symposium on the Changing Face of Building Materials and Systems in Response to Climate Change, October 9-10, 2024 in Orlando, Fla. Organizers envision a forum exploring the impacts of climate change on building specification, coupled with discussion and collaborations surrounding codes and standards. Paper or presentation topic candidates include:
• Climate-resilient buildings and thermal insulations matching the extremes of temperature, fire, drought, wind, rain and flood;
• Embodied carbon;
• New or modified thermal insulations and related building products/materials;
• Theoretical developments in materials and systems design;
• Advances in testing and evaluation, laboratory and field;
• Codes, standards and economics related to buildings; and,
• Simulations and modeling of building performance.
Additional information on the program can be obtained from C16 Technical Chairs Phalguni Mukhopadhyaya and David Yarbrough, or at the symposium portal.
