Sublime Systems, Massachusetts developer of an alternative binder to portland cement for concrete, is among 100 early-stage companies named to the World Economic Forum 2023 Technology Pioneer cohort. Part of the Innovator Communities within the WEF Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Technology Pioneers serves as a networking venue for startups approaching growth stage and intellectual property commercialization. Candidates are privately held and earn membership based on five levers:
• Innovation. Bringing technology to market with an effective business model;
• Impact. Exhibiting the potential to make long-term impacts;
• Leadership. Demonstrating an ability to drive business success while contributing time and expertise to the Forum;
• Growth stage. Companies < 10 years since inception; and,
• Funding. Solid backing in Series A or start-up phase funding.
On the latter point, Sublime Systems will deploy capital raised earlier this year to build a commercial-scale line for a cementitious material produced through electrolysis at temperatures far below those of portland cement.
